A Most Powerful Way to Monetize LinkedIn
I know — I dropped the “r” in powerful in the title of the news posts — oops. I caught it too late to correct it. Maybe with practice this blog will improve my editing skills so I don’t miss my typos. Thank you for your patience.
If you really want to monetize LinkedIn, get a blog (or learn how to leverage the one you have).
I almost feel like this is too simple, but I have the feeling that many LinkedIners aren’t aware of the power having a blog gives them and how it can be connected and used that blog to really help you succeed on LinkedIn.
A blog has another advantage – the search engines love them as they are focused on content. Having a blog on your site can do wonders for how will your site does in the search engines, not to mention that a blog (I recommend WordPress) is Web2.0 enabled.
One of the fist objectives you have on LinkedIn is to establish yourself as an expert. Blogs make this easy as you can publish valuable content such as you see here and quickly establish yourself as an expert in the minds of many.
Another factor to your success is being able to develop lots of great relationships. Again, the blog will provide you the vehicle to meet people and develop relationships.
Having such content on your site, especially if you are publishing posts on some sort of a regular basis gives you “food” (bait) to feed your LinkedIn profile visitors.
As I have discussed numerous times in previous posts having something of value you can offer in your profile that brings them closer – to your site is the way you start to develop a relationship with others.
Even if you don’t use any networking principles, just simply bringing more people to your site will eventually result in additional business.
Using some very simple methods on LinkedIn I drive thousands of people to my blog every week. There are so many advantages to blogging in your area of expertise it makes no sense to not do it.
By the way if you are a small independent business person with a website and feeling chained by your webmaster as you don’t have the expertise to do things yourself doing a WordPress blog or site is a fantastic answer.
